Say "hello" to our 2025, Q1 grant recipients: Rosie, Valerian, Matcha, Chet, Mishka, Doge, Kuma, Jade, Umeko, Kita & Snitzel!
*IMPORTANT NEWS*
OUR GRANT PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY PAW-SED
We have awarded almost $16k in grants to 34 pups in 10 rescues from 2024 to present.
This is incredible! However, it also means that we must pause our grant program until we can raise funds. We know this might seem heartbreaking, but we have met our goal of awarding grants to as many Shibas as possible! We will let you know when grant applications resume. Our grant program cannot exist without the generosity of our supporters. We look forward to raising (more) funds this year!

HOW WE CAN HELP
We are an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) fundraising & grants non-profit organization. Our mission is to help Shiba Inu dogs (& Shiba Inu mixes) that have been rescued from unfavorable situations such as abandonment & neglect.
How do we help these Shibas if we are not a Shiba rescue? By raising money that can be distributed in the form of grants to eligible Shiba Inu rescues in the USA.
While we do not assist with the rescuing, rehabilitating or rehoming of Shibas, our grants help improve the quality of life of Shibas in rescue so that they can find their furever home. These are Shibas needing medical attention & supplies that are at risk of being denied adequate care due to lack of funding.

HOW OUR GRANTS WORK
Shiba Prom grants are need-based grants. This means that our grants must fulfill a specific purpose with a specific outcome for the specific Shiba Inu named in the grant.
Our grants are not donations. Our grant money is not flexible or unrestricted like a donation whereby funds can be less generalized & used for multiple purposes. Example: Our grants cannot be awarded for "continued care" or "general supplies for the rescue." But our grants can be awarded for something like a "tooth extraction for Shiba Inu XYZ."
Our grant cycle begins in January every year & runs on a quarterly basis (Q1-Q4). A grant can pay up to $500. Eligible rescues can apply for TWO grants per quarter.
Q1 = January-March
Q2 = April-June
Q3 = July-September
Q4 = October-December
A grant application must be submitted in order to receive a grant payout. The application will contain information that we need in order to determine if the Shiba is eligible to receive the grant (such as the supporting documentation of the identified need).
We love to see the furry face we are helping! Our application will ask for a photo of the Shiba named in the grant which we will then feature on this page & in our socials.
Only 1 Shiba can be named per grant application. The same Shiba can receive more than 1 grant but separate applications are required for each request.
Grants can be requested for a variety of reasons! Examples: services rendered (such as reimbursement for a vet bill), for scheduled services (such as an eye surgery estimate) or for costs associated with essential care (such as a receipt for medication). If you are unsure, please reach out to us!
