About Us

Ann Lynch, President
Ann is a pharmacist and Professor of Pharmacy Practice at MCPHS University in Worcester, Massachusetts, specializing in areas including veterinary pharmacy. Her many years as a health care professional and manager have been invaluable in helping to build Shiba Prom’s events and success.

For 14 and a half years, Ann was “humom” to Shelby, the Shiba who rescued Ann and her husband in 1998. After Shelby passed in 2013, Ann and her husband continued to volunteer at local and regional rescues. They were recently rescued again by Yoshi, a foster Shiba from NYC Shiba Rescue, who has quickly become one of the family.

Ann has served as a volunteer and on the Shiba Prom executive committee since 2014 and will continue as chair for 2018. In her free time, she loves to photograph nature and wildlife, and hike with her husband and Yoshi.

Jillian has a background as an executive assistant, actress, bartender, and blogger. She likes to learn about everything that she can, especially when it can help Shiba rescue!
Jillian is owned by three Shibas: Kuma, Riley, and Tofu. They all came from rescue, and she is passionate about doing all she can to help other rescue Shibas and humans find each other. Every dog deserves good health care and a loving home.

Lucy Rose and Endeavour, aka “Dev”
Cindy Fendt, Treasurer
Endeavour [typing]: Mommy is the most pawsome humom. I love my mommy! She has a lap for snuggles and we play and she gives me good noms and . . .
Lucy Rose: No, Endeavour! You never compliment the humans like that. They will get swelled heads. They might even decide not to be our servants! It would destroy the whole Shibaverse!
Lucy Rose [typing]: What does the humom do? Well, the humom is always bizzy and it's always for other Shibas or that werk thing she does or stuff I don’t like. She drags us to agility and nose work classes. Sometimes, when we're supposed to be having fun together, she goes to seminars and conferences on training us. Even worse, she visits other Shibas in shelters and even drives them around! Once in a while, she brings one of these Shibas home with her. She  says that they are only staying for a little while, so they have time to find a furever home; but, one time, an interloper named Saffron stayed! Humom said she became my sisfur. That was just wrong.
Endeavour [sighs]: Lucy, you seem to forget that you are a rescue and humom wants to help other rescues get homes where they are loved and doted upon, too.
Lucy Rose: You mean the cherished lifestyle to which I, as a Shiba, am entitled. [Sigh] I guess all Shibas should have homes where they are worshiped.
